Thor, If I was using shoe skies and took a fall that tore a ligament loose from the bone and took a piece of bone with it I too would put safety in the upper echelons of the review. The fact of the matter is most shoe skies won't come off in a fall. I've worn all the shoe skies and Scarpa's seem to be the only line that have the potential to come off during a fall. I myself prefer the BarefootCentral shoe skies due to their functionality, simulation and durability. After a 2 year break from competitive barefooting I strapped on these shoe skies and I was back doing 4 turns on my feet within a week. I also like the fact that BarefootCentral's shoe skies are lightweight and comfortable. That's just my opinion though. Everyone has different priorities when it comes to any competitive or recreational sport. Some want value some want safety. I myself prefer functionality.
