Greg, I would be interested in knowing which shoe skis you ended up with and what you thought about them, etc. I may be somewhat biased regarding the safety issue, but that's because of injuries sustained from using shoe skis that didn't come off in a fall (I couldn't practice turns for most of that summer). Shoe skis that stay on the foot during a fall transfer all the torque from an edge catching to the ligaments in the ankle and/or knee. In my case, the torque was great enough to tear a ligament along with a the bone itself (the ligament tore loose from the bone and took a piece of bone with it). In any case, I am reconsidering doing ratings where one product wins and another loses or where the products are ranked. This is because everyone values the categories differently. In my case, I rate the safety category equal to the other categories, which is higher than perhaps other people would. Anyway, somthing to think about ... :)
