Wow!!! That must have been an Adventure. When I first learned to waterski back in the early 90's I was stationed Charleston, SC. In the Mid 90's I got stationed here in CT. It was May when I transferred and thought the water was really cold up here. I stayed in my drysuit until July and all of the locals just laughed at me when we would go skiing. Over the last 7 years I've gotten used to the colder water and ski wet longer. This year I went to almost the end of October in a wetsuit thanks to the heater shirt. I have a simple thumbrule for Skiing in my shorty. If the air temperature and water temperature combined add up to at least 100 degrees I know that I'll be compfortable. In the spring we typically see warm air and cold water and in the fall we typically see cold air and warm water. When both turn cold it's Drysuit time.
