John's note made me think of a great web page question: What are the coldest conditions that you have barefooted in? For me, the coldest was my '83 summer that I spent as a pro show skier in Hassloch Germany (water ski shows inc.). We started the show on April 20th, and the water would take your breath away when you got in. At that time, drysuits were not available, so the best we had were shorty wetsuits. I think the water was in the high 30's or low 40's. For someone from the south, it was a pretty cold start. I used to ask to be "Elvis" because of the long jumpsuit costume and the wig to keep my head warm. We did 4 shows a day and worked 6 days a week. By the end of April I was ready to go home! I stuck it out, and it did eventually warm up at the end of May. Thankfully, Germany had a heat wave that year that put most of the days in the high 80's or low 90's. Barefoot'n ----Yagottaluvit
