Shawn, As far as Inboard Barefoot boats go, the Sanger sets the standard for wake quality. Malibu on the other hand is well known for thier fit, finish, and compfort. With the approved barefoot models, the Malibu is slightly faster than the Sanger and the Malibu is more commonly found with an Open bow model. The only major difference between a 3-event, Wakeboard, or Barefoot Response aside from the powerplant is whether or not you have a wedge or a wakeplate. If family skiing, wakeboarding, or resale is a concern then the Response may have better appeal to you. If you are a hardcore barefooter and want a barefoot machine then the Sanger is the way to go. It has the superior wake and creature compforts that a barefooter is looking for over the Malibu. The Sanger DXII started pulling barefoot tournaments back around 1998 and every year they get better whereas the Response is the new kid on the block and many people feel it's a step down from it's predecessor, the FlightCraft. Personally, I feel that if you are looking for the perfect all around boat as well as the best barefoot boat on the market then you should consider the Ski-Pro Extreme. It by far has the best performance in speed, acceleration, handling, and wake quality above any of the inboards. Excellent for any board sport and recreational slalom skiing. Not to mention it has the most storage, quietest ride, and best fuel economy out of the barefoot models tested. I know that this sounds like a plug, but I've been a Ski-Pro owner for 9 years and have never been let down. Ski-Pro is looking for promo people so if your interested you can call me at 1-860-861-3034 and I can give you the skier - skier info, or you can call the factory direct at 1-800-375-4776 and ask for Pat Moore, the owner. Thanks, John Skobrak (Ski-Pro Promo Team and Eastern Region Competitor)
