Sunday’s game between Manchester City and Tottenham was full of incidents, none more so than Balotelli’s clash with Parker. The striker is now 11/10 to receive an FA ban
Mario Balotelli should have been sent off for ‘blatantly’ kicking Scott Parker in the head during Super Sunday’s showdown against Tottenham, according to Spurs boss Harry Redknapp. And Sportingbet make him 11/10 (2.10) to now receive a ban from the Football Association over the incident.
The Italian was introduced as a second-half substitute and went on to give City a dramatic victory but went unpunished by referee Howard Webb after tangling with Parker. Sportingbet opened their market at 5/4 (2.25) on Balotelli being banned, but were forced to cut to 11/10 (2.10) after receiving an influx of early money.
But even at odds-against, the possibility of a ban looks more likely than unlikely, considering the City striker’s past misdemeanours.
The 21-year-old’s initial contact appeared accidental but a second seemed to involve a deliberate movement of the foot towards Parker.
It came after the forward had already been booked during the clash at the Etihad. With the FA refusing to comment on the incident, Sportingbet go 4/6 (1.67) that no further punishment will be handed out.
Back Mario Balotelli to be banned by the FA for his ‘stamp’ on Scott Parker at 11/10 (2.10) with Sportingbet.
